The OSHA Fall Protection Standard for Construction as well as an introduction to fall protection techniques are covered in this course. Topics to include principles of fall protection, the elements and restrictions of fall arrest systems, and OSHA Standards and policies regarding fall protection. Students will take part in hands-on sessions that show how to inspect and use fall protection equipment, residential construction fall protection, learn about the requirements for training, and create a fall protection program. Students who successfully complete the course will be able to evaluate installed passive systems and fall arrest systems, assess compliance with the OSHA Fall Protection Standard, and create and implement fall protection plans. Minimum student contact hours: 18
